Solution Design Engineer

ROLE PURPOSE

As part of the larger scope & responsibility the Solution Design Engineer would be working with Pre-sales team for high value bids or complex bids. Responsible for preparing design documents or low level design and be a technical prime during the delivery phase of all the new projects which are not highly complex.

  • You will strive for Technical Excellence to provide “Best of Breed” Solutions which meet the business requirements of Customers.
  • To support business opportunities for prioritized requirements and closely work with Sales team to meet customer expectation.
  • Create high level design documentation for each customer and engage with design team for a specific design documents.
  • Performing technical feasibilities and getting the internal approvals for non-standard solution offerings.
  • Create Low level design documentation for standard opportunities and get it accepted by the IP Cell.
  • Co-ordination with Project and internal team during the delivery phase.
  • Own existing customers BAU designs, Support all low complex opportunities from a pre-sales engagement perspective.

 

Performance Measures

  • Time taken to produce proposals.
  • Loading clean orders.
  • Enable on-time order delivery.
  • Production of Low level design.
  • Performance on training targets.

Candidate must have the following technical skills and a comprehensive understanding of key technologies

1.          Technologies

  • Wide Area Networking using protocols such as MPLS, IPVPN, TCP/IP & Managed network services.
    • Hands-on experience in networking & telecom equipments is an added advantage.
    • Knowledge on Ethernet, SONET/SDH, IP Telephony & Unified Communication technologies.
  • Has in depth understanding of interoperation between different technology areas

 

2.          Network Elements

  • Router  & Switches ( All Cisco models)
  • NTE’s, MUX’s
  • Firewall
  • IP telephony – Cisco, Avaya (Knowledge is advantageous)

 

3.          Networking Protocols

  • TCP / IP, Ethernet, MPLS
  • Routing: TCP/IP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, IGMP, ISIS
  • IP Telephony: H.323, SIP
  • Other Protocols : SNMP, PPP, Spanning Tree

 

Educational Qualifications & Working Experience

 

  • Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science or Telecommunication Engineering
  • Experience in making low level & high level designs for WAN, IP Telephony, Unified Communication
  • Good Documentation skills
  • CCNP/CCVP/JNCP certifications are added advantage
